The Size of Beauty
ByBeauty has no size. It can’t be weighed with a scale or measured with tape. Neither can it be bought or sold. Its depth is not determined by men or women. It can only be created by the Creator of beauty itself.
We live in a world obsessed with beauty, not naturally flawed beauty, but artificially perfected beauty. Unfortunately the media defines beauty and the public imitates it. The rule by which society measures beauty is critical and cruel.
Ladies, we put a lot of credence into our clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. but truth be told, these tangible objects can no more enhance true beauty than a decorative bow tied to a Picasso. True beauty is without measure, unable to be judged like in a pageant. It’s not determined by the shallow standards of this world. Remember that the truth of God’s word negates the lies of the world.
In 1 Peter 3:3 His word says: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.”
His word also says in 1 Samuel 16:7b “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
The size of your waist is not a determining factor in the beauty of God’s grace. Although society has a preference when it comes to sizes 2 or 22, God absolutely does not.
Personally, I think if God gave us a unit of measure for beauty it would be about 7 oz…that’s the size of an average human heart.
