101 Tips to Help Your Budget (and YOU) at Home – #31, 32 & 33

101 Ways to Help Your Budget and You at Home

31. Shop Consignment
Consignment stores are a great place to find things for the house as well as kids’ clothing and toys. When my daughter was small I often took her dress shopping at our local consignment store, especially for holiday dresses. We got some CUTE dresses that she would only be wearing a couple of times for a fraction of the retail cost.

32. Combine Trips
CWAHM reader Tricia Kongos says that she often combines trips to run errands to save gas and time. Instead of running one or two errands each day, consider choosing one day a week and running multiple errands.

33. Post Receipts
Another great money-saving tip is to post grocery receipts on your refrigerator. This is a great way for your family to know what’s in the cupboards. Also, seeing the total you spent at the grocery store at the bottom is incentive to eat at home rather than going out.
