Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Interview with Lori Clapper, founder, Wonderfully Woven

Lori Clapper is a freelance business writer and the founder of a new online ministry for women, called Wonderfully WOVEN.

Ever since the early days of toting around her Fisher Price tape recorder, interviewing her younger brothers about the latest playground news — Lori knew media was her passion. She dedicated most of her career entertaining thousands of  fans as a radio morning show hostess at Christian radio stations in Erie, PA and Fayetteville, NC. In 2008, Lori decided it was time to hang up the headphones and to start getting some sleep. (Those 3 AM wake-up calls are killer, especially when you don’t like coffee!) She spent the last six years as a website editor in the pharmaceutical industry and as the PR Director and content strategist for a high-tech marketing firm; She is currently freelancing and devoting time to Wonderfully WOVEN.

Most importantly, Lori is married to Greg and is a mom to three kids and two dogs. She loves watching makeover shows, is a QVC addict, and loves to blog, podcast, shop, sing (mostly in the car or shower), as well as spend time with family and friends.

ABOUT DESTINED FOR DOON
In this sequel to Doon, Mackenna Reid realizes she made a horrible mistake in choosing to follow her dreams of Broadway instead of staying in the enchanted land of Doon. To make everything worse, she’s received her Calling—proof she and Duncan are each other’s one true love—and it’s pure torment, especially when visions of the very alluring Scottish prince appear right before she goes on stage. So when Duncan tells her an ancient curse threatens to overtake Doon and the new queen and Kenna’s best friend, Veronica, needs her to return, Kenna doesn’t have to think twice. With darkness closing in on all sides, Kenna and Vee must battle a world of nightmares in order to protect the kingdom. But it will take the ultimate test of courage for Kenna to salvage her happily ever after.

Interview with author Kristine McGuire

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Interview with author Kristine McGuire

spiritual-warefareI recently had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Kristine McGuire, author of An Insider’s Guide to Spiritual Warfare.  Kristine was, at one time, a member of Wicca and considered herself both a medium and a witch.  After coming back to follow Christ, she now blogs regularly at her website (KristineMcGuire.com) and speaks and writes on the topic of spiritual warfare.

Tune in and here as she shares a little of her story and gives advice on how we can handle spiritual warfare in our own lives – what to look out for, what not to do and how to overcome some of the common battlefields like fear and worry.

maryluInterview with MaryLu Tyndall

ABOUT MaryLu Tyndall:

A Christy Award finalist, MaryLu Tyndall dreamt of tall ships and swashbuckling heroes during her childhood years on Florida’s Atlantic Coast. She holds a degree in Math and worked as a software engineer for fifteen years. Trapped in a land-locked cubicle, she was often seen pounding furiously upon the keyboard during her lunch hour, creating what would become her Legacy of the King’s Pirates series, all the while believing God’s promise to her that. “If you write it, I will get it published”. And He did! Fourteen books later, her loving husband and six children still haven’t gotten used to her historic costumes and nautical speech. MaryLu describes herself as an introvert, patriot, mother of six, the neighborhood cat-lady, tall ship enthusiast, friend of pirates and mermaids, obsessive compulsive control freak, history lover, hopeless romantic, and a sword wielding princess-warrior of the King of Kings. Her books are filled with adventure and romance and themes that are guaranteed to touch your heart! She continues to pen her romantic tales on the California coast while managing a home, husband, six adult kids, and several stray cats who have decided that her keyboard is the best place to sleep! She believes that without popcorn and chocolate, life would not be worth living, and her sole motivation in life is to bring others closer to God. Read More→

CWAHM Moment with Dr. Rhona Epstein, author of Food Triggers

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on CWAHM Moment with Dr. Rhona Epstein, author of Food Triggers

Interview with Dr. Rhona Epstein:

Rhona Epstein
About the Author:
Rhona Epstein began her recovery journey at seventeen years old after battling binge eating and bulimia from childhood. Affected so deeply by the recovery process, she determined to devote the rest of her life to helping others out of the same insanity with food abuse and weight obsession.

She completed her master’s in counseling psychology in 1986 from Temple University of Philadelphia, and worked with individuals and families facing drug and alcohol addictions in both inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. Her goal was simple: To learn from chemical dependency treatment practices, and apply those ideas to treating addictive eating issues. To address the underlying emotional and relational aspects of addiction-things such as healing past wounds, learning assertiveness, how to set healthy boundaries, forgive, and communicate in open, healthy, honest ways-she studied and completed a marriage and family therapy training program through the Council for Relationships at the University of Pennsylvania, in 1988.

Since 1994, Rhona provides individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy at Life Counseling Services in Paoli, Pennsylvania. While she’s expanded her practice to reach people with a wide range of issues, she specializes in treating addictions and eating disorders. Depending on the client, Rhona integrates either twelve-step recovery principles or biblically-based spirituality in therapy.

She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College in 2009, and her dissertation, Binge-Eating Disorder and the Twelve-Steps (Lambert Academic Publishing, 2011), focuses on understanding the strategies most relied upon by successfully recovering individuals. Filled with the latest research on food addiction, binge eating disorder, and related issues, the book includes her lifelong, independent research on what works in recovery.

About the Book:

Food Triggers

Food Triggers is full of practical applications from Scripture, genuine compassion and true stories of struggle and success. This book helps readers understand that addictive eating is a physical, emotional and spiritual problem that must be addressed on all three levels in order to achieve true freedom. Food Triggers isn’t just another diet book; it is truly a food addict’s roadmap to the Promised Land—the land of success, peace and total freedom.

A licensed psychologist and certified addictions counselor, Epstein brings insights learned through her own battle with addictive eating to deliver tangible action steps to overcome eating issues. It is written for people who are currently battling an unhealthy relationship with food.

Listen in as Brandon shares a little about what it what like appearing on NBC’s The Voice (is it really as positive as they say?) and how he got his start in music in his church’s worship band – and why that was such a surprise!

About Brandon:
Country music artist Brandon Chase is nothing shy of a miracle. Only a few days old, Brandon quit breathing 64 times in 12 hours and was told by doctors he could be deaf, blind, mentally impaired, or possibly all three. Not only did the Arlington, TX native not suffer any complications from his childhood, he instead went on to graduate high school at the age of 15. He then completed his masters certificate in songwriting from Berklee College of Music at the age of 17.
