Interview with William P. Young, author of The Shack
Posted by: | Comments
A few other bloggers and I got together yesterday for a wonderful interview with William P. Young, author of the New York Times Bestseller, The Shack.
About the Book:
Mackenzie Allen Philips’ youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.
Against his better judgment he arrives as the shack on a wintry afternoon and walk back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack’s world forever.
In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant The Shack wrestles with the timeless question, Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain? The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You’ll want everyone you know to read this book.

Our Drive to Communicate
Posted by: | Comments“We need this exit,” I abruptly told my husband. We had been deep into a friendly discussion and, not realizing the turn was so close, I had failed to give him my usual warning time.
“You’re wrong!” was his emphatic answer as he drove right passed the exit. Our friendly conversation was forgotten, the mood changed in an instant.
My husband and I were in the car—again—this time, on our way to Georgia to help our daughter-in-law settle into a new apartment while our son was otherwise engaged with the military. Thankfully, she was following behind us in another vehicle rather than listening to the debate in our car.
“I’m the one with the map!” I reminded him.

Book Review – ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income
Posted by: | Comments
When I saw the Problogger book, written by Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett, I knew I needed to check it out. I love Problogger.net (Rowse’s site) and know that these guys are truly pro’s at blogging. So, I set out to see if the book was as awesome as the website. Thankfully, it is.
The book has enough information to get someone started who has never blogged before. From how to set up the blog and how to choose a name to more advanced skills like customizing blog templates. Rowse and Garrett make use of pictures to help readers visualize what they are learning and give clear, concise definitions of terms that those new to blogging may not be familiar with.
Problogger is also perfect for those already familiar with blogging, covering things like how to monetize your blog (with real ideas – not just fluff), how often to post, and even how to sell your blog.
I’m honestly still digging through this book. There is so much great information packed inside that I may need to read it again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything. If you’re interested in blogging or simply want to fine tune the blog you already have then this is a book that you won’t want to miss.

Posted by: | Comments
I’ve loved Cindy Morgan’s music for years, so I was very excited to hear that she has a new album out. I’m even more thrilled to have the opportunity to review it!
The CD is gorgeous. I don’t know if music can be ‘gorgeous,’ but that’s the word I’d use to describe it. Morgan’s voice is strong and rich and the songs are full of deep, meaningful lyrics.
The CD has 11 brand-new songs (which you can hear snippets of on Morgan’s website) and each is delightful. My personal favorite is number five, The Sun Shines Through. The title track, Beautiful Bird, is another of my favorites. Each track has a little different feel and it makes for a wonderful listening experience.

Today I’m Grateful For…
Posted by: | Comments
I realized recently that I’ve had a bad attitude. Of course there are reasons behind it and yet I know that my attitude is to be like that of Christ (Philippians 2:5) and it certainly hasn’t been lately. So, I’m embarking on a new journey today – a journey of thankfulness.
As often as possible, I’m going to post things that I’m grateful for. Some may seem silly, some will be serious, but I pray all will bring glory to God.
I invite you to join me! Simply post a comment below to join in.
So, to kick things off….today I’m grateful for:

CWAHM.com is a dream that God has truly brought to life. I began CWAHM.com in 2000 while learning HTML. I thought it would be a fun hobby and a way to compile all the information I was seeking on working at home. I am a mom of 2 (1 boy, 1 girl), a wife and I do work from home. I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of seven as a Sparky in my church’s AWANA club. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Grace University in Human Development and Family Studies/Bible. I love working from home and I pray that CWAHM will be a blessing in your life as it has been in mine.
