Why Worry?
Posted by: | CommentsVery seldom do we feel as though we have any control over our anxieties and worries. Most of the time it feels as though life is a constant battle; yet, we fail to see that the battle is within. We find ourselves being conquered by feelings, instead of fighting the fight of faith. We will never live in the peace that Jesus came to give us if we don’t learn to “cast our cares.”
If we really stop to think about it…Jesus made a really great point in Matthew 6:27 when He said, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not.” Quite simply put, “Why worry?” Really, what exactly does it accomplish? We spend so much time worrying and trying to somehow solve situations that only God can resolve, redeem, and restore. We must stop “trying” and just start “trusting.”
God has made it clear to us that we are not to carry our burdens. He has told us to “cast our cares” upon Him, but what exactly does that mean? How are we to just “give it to God?” It’s much easier said than done. The whole idea becomes illusive as the burdens just seem to continue to pile upon us. Posted by: | CommentsDVD Review: The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything- A Veggietales Movie
Posted by: | Comments
Another great Veggietales movie is now on DVD. My kids loved The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. While it’s not based directly on a Bible story as most of the Veggie movies are, it still has a great lesson to teach – doing what’s right.
Larry and his fellow pirates (Mr. Lunt and Pa Grape) find themselves out to sea when a brave young princess uses her special orb to call for help. The orb is supposed to bring heroes to her aid, but when they arrive she isn’t sure that the orb has done it’s job. Can Larry and friends help rescue her brother from an evil pirate?
My kids loved this movie. My three year old is now considering becoming a pirate when he grows up. ![]()

Bette Fetter, founder and CEO of Young Rembrandts, Inc., began her career as a professional artist with a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. Yet it was her fascination with child development, especially as it related to the visual arts, which led Bette into a field of virtually undiscovered territory. Equipped with the principles of the Montessori method, Bette served the needs of many young children, first teaching around her kitchen table, then as a classroom instructor, and finally as the visionary entrepreneur of Young Rembrandts, Inc.
