I realized recently that I’ve had a bad attitude. Of course there are reasons behind it and yet I know that my attitude is to be like that of Christ (Philippians 2:5) and it certainly hasn’t been lately. So, I’m embarking on a new journey today – a journey of thankfulness.

As often as possible, I’m going to post things that I’m grateful for. Some may seem silly, some will be serious, but I pray all will bring glory to God.

Today I’m grateful for:

Books. I love to read. I could sit for hours a day and read if I had the time. The great part about books is that I almost always take something away from them. God has used books many times to show me the error of my ways.

The best part about books is that the way the Lord chose to communicate with us in through the written word, the Bible. I get lost in the stories of the Old Testament – my favorite is the story of Elijah on Mt. Carmel. You can read it in 1 Kings 18.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. – Phil. 4:8
