Mom’s Twelve Days Of Christmas
Posted by: | CommentsLyrics thoughtfully revised by Mindi K. Flowers
On the first day of Christmas, my children gave to me
A chance to be a referee.
On the second day of Christmas, my children gave to me
Two hugs with love
And another chance to be a referee.
On the third day of Christmas, my children gave to me
Three accidents
Two hugs with love
And another chance to be a referee.
On the fourth day of Christmas, my children gave to me
Four joyous moments
Three accidents
Two hugs with love
And another chance to be a referee.
On the fifth day of Christmas, my children gave to me
Five handmade things
Four joyous moments
Three accidents
Two hugs with love
And another chance to be a referee. Read More→

Desperation Marketing In Direct Sales – Why It Doesn’t Work
Posted by: | Commentsby Shelly Hill
When it comes to marketing your Direct Sales business online, I am seeing way too many consultants using desperation or begging tactics for business. When you beg for business…it comes across as being unprofessional.
I am not sure if these consultants realize the damage they are doing to their professional reputation or to their company ‘Name Brand’ when they beg for new recruits or new customer sales.
When you talk to others about your business, it is important to come across as a true professional who believes in the value of your products or the business opportunity that your company markets. When you beg for product sales or new recruits, you devalue your brand and your marketing strategy goes by the wayside.
When you are a representative or consultant for a Direct Sales company, you are to maintain a professional appearance at all times when you are marketing your business or representing the company you are affiliated with.
Here are some common scenarios I have recently encountered.
1. Jane Doe is desperate to hit her monthly quota of $300 in personal sales so she emails everyone she knows the following: “Hey friends, I am $200 away from my quota, I am willing to take orders from you at my cost. I am begging you to give me an order before Friday so that I can make my sales goal.” Read More→

Posted by: | CommentsParenting During Deployment
Posted by: | Comments
A note from Jocelyn Green: The following is reposted by permission from ExcellentorPraisworthy.org, the online devotional Web site of Campus Crusade for Christ’s Military Ministry. Linda Montgomery, the Web site’s editor and co-author of Making Your Marriage Deployment Ready, recently asked Diana Juergens, author of Wife of a Soldier, A Journey of Faith, to share her thoughts on parenting during deployment. Rich and Diana are the parents of eight daughters and have just completed their sixth (or is it seventh?) deployment.
So with no further ado, here’s what Diana has to share with us:
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” —John 7:38
Parenting well during a deployment begins with our faith—which begins with belief in the truth of Scripture. Being “plugged in” to our source of faith, the Lord Jesus, allows us to be full of “living water” (the Holy Spirit) which will then flow through us to our children. To put it another way—as Jesus tells us in John 15:5—we are to “abide in the vine.” “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” God is making it very clear when He describes Himself as the vine and His people as the branches that the branches must abide (remain in, stay) in the vine to bear fruit. Without the vine, the branch is nothing. Both of these verses quoted point to the most important source for parenting—Jesus Christ. He is the provider of our strength, joy, wisdom, and discernment (the fruit of abiding) to care for and train up our children while our husbands are gone. Read More→
