7 Organization Tips For Back-To-School
ByBy Michelle Poteet
Are you kids about to start/return to school? Are you ready for them to go? Okay, so after a summer off, parents and kids may BOTH be ready for school to start up. More importantly are you organized for back-to-school?
Here are 7 organizing tips to get you and your family better prepared for the start of the school year:
1. Set back the bedtime clock. Setting back the bedtime clock just a few minutes every night in the few weeks before school starts will help you get your kiddos adjusted to the “back-to-school” schedule.
2. Create homework areas. Find a spot that is comfortable and convenient for your kids to do their homework.
3. Sort through the closet. It’s time to see what still fits and what does not BEFORE heading to the store.
4. Gather school supplies and school gear. Pens, pencils, backpacks, lunch bags – do you have anything from last year that is still usable? Make a list and hit the stores. Looking for the best prices? Check out the ads in the Sunday paper, or on-line at the store website.
5. Designate area for school things. Backpacks, lunch bags, etc. all need a “home” when the time comes to head back to school. My making the place accessible to everyone you can encourage your kids to put their school things in the appropriate home.
6. Create a school info binder. A school info binder gives you a place to put any important documents, calendars and other information brought home from school. Putting it in one place makes it easier to find when you (or others) need to reference the material.
7. Create a family calendar. Having a family calendar is a must. It not only gives you a place to write important activities for all family members, but it allows for everyone to “see” what is happening.

CWAHM.com is a dream that God has truly brought to life. I began CWAHM.com in 2000 while learning HTML. I thought it would be a fun hobby and a way to compile all the information I was seeking on working at home. I am a mom of 2 (1 boy, 1 girl), a wife and I do work from home. I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of seven as a Sparky in my church’s AWANA club. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Grace University in Human Development and Family Studies/Bible. I love working from home and I pray that CWAHM will be a blessing in your life as it has been in mine.
