I’ve found that I can’t really ‘fit time with God in’. If I don’t make time with Him a priority.. doing it first before all the other things that are yelling for my attention… it just won’t get done.
I have made it a habit to say ‘Good morning, God!” when I wake and spend some time praying and listening right then. Once my feet hit the floor..the demands from my children, home, and work begin.
I also do some Bible studying online… have some good devotionals sent to me so I can keep God’s Word around me, since I am on the computer a good bit. When I see them e-mailed in devo… I usually know when I need a ‘mid-day pick me-up’ with God…
Before I go to sleep, I always read the Bible… it has become a habit that brings me comfort and settles my mind so I can really have a good restful night.
I look forward to hearing the other women’s ideas!

Jill, I saw the question about incorporating your faith into your business. One way I do this is to print bible verses on mailing labels and place them on my catalouges.

When I became a mom I was honestly not sure whether I’d ever again be able to keep my eyes open long enough to read more than I verse from the Bible at a time. Those early motherhood days are exhausting! But, as my kids have grown, so has my spiritual life. I now have a morning routine that includes time with God – both in the Word and in prayer. The days when life gets crazy and my schedule gets interrupted I can definitely feel a difference in myself. I’m less focused and just…less.
I read something recently that recommended taking “small bites of Scripture” all day. Reading little bits of God’s Word throughout the day to keep our minds on eternal things and to remind ourselves throughout the day that life is about so much more than ourselves.
So, that’s my new goal – to take in God’s Word – through reading the Bible, listening to Christian radio/music, etc – throughout my days.

A mom of many years I’m learning that children never really leave home as well as more children have become included over the years. Responsibilties and requirements of individual time only increase and giving God a lesser position than Lord over all is an open invitation for calamity and mayhem.
When health of body, family and home is out-of-order stop what you are doing and wait for directions. Every age is the right age for discipline and obedience in God’s plan for your unique lifestyle. God knew you before you were created. He knew what would be your personality, your strengths as well as your weaknesses. He planned your every course of action with the end in mind.
My directions as an older mom are many, one of which is to empower the younger generation with the willingness to let God do His job. Let Him give you His gifts especially prepared only for you.
My tip: Get back to basics. Stop and repair what isn’t working. We weren’t intended to walk around with less than exceptional lifestyles, beginning with a healthy body.
Every morning, every evening I call to mind this verse:
Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
Psalm 16:5-6
Grow in being the Proverbs 31 woman.
When you give God your plan, He provides every measure for your success. Just make certain it’s His assignment before deciding to hand Him something that He hasn’t in mind for you.
