Notes From Today’s Show

We had a great show today!

Here are a few notes from what we talked about throughout the show:

Our 1st guest was author Lena Nelson Dooley.
* She mentors many writers and a great many of them are now published!
* Her website has some amazing recipes, check out the Mac and Cheese Recipe.
* The fun of writing a book is doing the research.  She talked about the late 1980′s where she had to research how to feed a baby on a train.  This was before Formula was commonplace.

Our 2nd guest was consulting guru and author Bruce Katcher.

* To market your business, whether it’s consulting or something else, start with your network of friends and associates.
* Write down 50 people and continue to network with them.  Go to lunch, etc.
* For consulting, network with other consultants.  (For virtual assistants it could be networking with other VAs, or Christian Work at Home Moms, network with other Christian Work at Home moms.
* When marketing, do what you are comfortable doing and enjoy.  You don’t have to do things that you aren’t.
