Book Review: Problogger 3rd Edition
By Pebbles Jacobo
It’s always good to stay up to date on what’s happening online. Besides, who couldn’t use a little continuing education in their selected field? Such is the case for me. I recently read through the 3rd Edition of ProBlogger and here’s what I think of the book:
Problogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income – Third Edition by Darren Rowse & Chris Garrett
Genre: Instructional/Internet
Publisher: Wiley Publishing, Inc.
Publication Date: 2012Blogging, short for ‘web logging’, when used correctly can produce an income. With the instructions and tips from Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett in their book, “Problogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income,” your blogging income could very possibly replace your current income. Rowse and Garrett are living examples of blogging success with their own blogs. Having been there, they know what a struggle it is to build a successfully monetized blog. Rowse and Garrett walk you through lessons they learned the hard way.
Though this book is specifically regarding blogging for an income, ALL bloggers should read this, whether endeavoring to produce a successful blog or a monetized blog. With so many tips for giving one’s blog more fuel, you can’t afford NOT to read Problogger unless you do not care about your blog’s success. Rowse and Garrett take the difficult issues and break them down into more digestible bites that help even the most complexities of blogging make sense.
I do have to say that they really hit a home run with the formatting of Problogger. For more visual readers they back up the concepts, examples and instructions with plenty of pictures, screenshots and special formatting of tips you just can’t afford to miss. This book has its permanent place in my library as reference material. My personal copy is highlighted in numerous places and stuffed with post-it notes marking specific references relative to the needs of my blogs.
A couple of years ago I read the second edition of Problogger. I am delighted to report the third edition is expanded – an extra 86 info-packed pages in fact. The only things Rowse and Garrett don’t do for you are tell you which blog is right for YOU and actually write the blogs for you. Other than that they have your back.
Have YOU read this book? What did you think? I’d love to hear from you, so be sure to comment below!!
