Run Into It
Posted by: | Comments
According to 1 Peter 5:8, we have an enemy who roams the earth looking for people to devour and destroy. Do you realize this verse isn’t written in past tense? It’s written in the present tense. The here and now.
He is actively looking to jack with someone every minute of every day. Nice.
And since you are breathing air, you’re a target. He wants to cause great angst, suffering and pain in your life. He hates you and the horse you rode in on.
So when his plans succeed and you are hit by his flaming arrows, how do you respond? Read More→
God Can Use YOU!
Posted by: | CommentsWhat is God asking you to do that promises to stretch and challenge you?
- Is He asking you write a book about a difficult, personal topic?
- Are you feeling led to become a missionary in a country ravaged by war?
- Does God want for you to lead a Bible study?
- Is He prompting you to step out and try a new career?
- Are you feeling that God is asking you to adopt a child from another country?
Sisters, God has a specific plan for each of our lives. It’s no fluke that you are alive during this time, living in the city you live in. It wasn’t a coin toss that landed you in your family. Your talents were well planned and intentional.
You are wonderfully and fearfully made. Read More→
Overcoming The No’s

I love it when my kids do what I ask them to do.
It makes my day when I ask them to pick up their rooms or empty the dishwasher and they actually do it. My heart is really tendered, however, when they obey while in the middle of doing something else they love.
In that moment, they chose me.
I’m sure the same goes for God. His heart is filled when we follow Him rather than our flesh.
Obeying Him can be hard for me at times, though. Why? Because He never asks me to do something easy. Is your experience different? Read More→
Seasonal Friendships
Posted by: | Comments
Did you know that some of your friendships are actually designed to be seasonal in nature?
By that I mean people who are friends in certain seasons of life. Maybe you were friends because of the school you went to or the small group you were in. Maybe your kids played sports together or you were both struggling with your marriages at the same time.
In that season, you just can’t imagine life without each other.
- The friendship is key to deliverance from strongholds because you can each speak God’s truth from an outsider’s perspective.
- One of you might have already walked that hard road so can provide expert advice on how to navigate it.
- There is a common thread between the two of you and the support you can offer each other is invaluable. Read More→
Help or Hurt
Posted by: | Comments
A few days ago, I touched base with an old friend via Facebook. I was just checking in because she’s been in a bit of a storm lately.
Her response made me sad.
While I don’t know all the details, she gave me her struggle in a nutshell. I’m so proud of how she is listening to God and trying to stay in His will because I am certain that IS the road less traveled. She’s setting an example for so many whether she realizes it or not.
Here’s the sad part.
At the end of her response, she mentioned how thankful she was that I cared enough to check in. Why? Because friends who she considered more like sisters had – for all intents and purposes – abandoned her.
Why do we do that?
The Three Voices
Posted by: | CommentsWhether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21)
Sometimes I get confused.
With so many voices circling around me, giving me advice to do this and that… I can find myself at a crossroads with what to do next.
You, too?
From the day we were born, a battle has raged for our hearts and minds. As Christ-followers, we need Divine discernment to know which voice to follow. We need to learn to tell them apart.
But that’s not always easy.
There are times the voices sound the same. They offer similar suggestions. They seem harmless and the advice, conceivable.
We need to know the difference.
